Diet – that nasty four letter word.

I’m trying to lose weight – again. In fact I’m always trying to lose weight because like most people, I can’t seem to find the discipline to stay the course. Or maybe it’s that I havent; found a new program that works.

I lost the 160 pounds by eating less than 50 grams of carbs a day and 90 minutes of daily exercise. Sigh.
I keep looking for shortcuts.

I reviewed the Cinch Diet and the 5 foods that will kick start your metabolism. Eggs, raspberries, plain yogurt, almonds and spinach.

Then I spoke of the Shangrila Diet about drinking no-taste extra light olive oil or sugar water and changing your set point. I have already had 3 tablespoons of olive oil this morning. The jury is stil out on this one.
And then there is the new full-plate diet. This is using high fiber fods to fill you up so you won’t eat as much.

Top Fiber Foods
The diet is set out into three stages, where you work your way up to 40 grams of fiber per day. Some of the main foods recommended are fruits, vegetables, beans, wholegrains, nuts and seeds.

Here are the top five fiber foods recommended from each category:

* Fruits: raspberries, pears, apples, oranges, bananas
* Vegetables: avocado, broccoli, spinach, sweet potatoes, carrots
* Beans: navy, lentils, pinto beans, black beans, kidney beans
* Nuts and seeds: flax seeds, almonds, sunflower seeds, peanuts, walnuts
* Grains: wheat, pearled barley, quinoa, oats, brown rice

I’mtold this diet has some good points but you may see an increase in the amount of flatulence. Now that’s attractive…
